Gina was on The Talk promoting Smallfoot. I’ve added photos to the gallery and you can view a clip below. She really just seems like the loveliest person.
Gina Rodriguez will direct the 11th episode of the CW’s “Charmed” reboot, Variety has confirmed.
“I’m very excited about that opportunity and obviously very excited that I get to do it with three Latinas,” Rodriguez said. “It’s really f—ing awesome. It’s going to be really exciting to see what that journey is.”
Rodriguez, who stars as the titular character on “Jane The Virgin” for the network made her directorial debut there last season, with the 10th episode of its fourth season. At the time, she told Variety that some of her influences in stepping behind the camera were past “Jane” directors Brad Silberling and Melanie Mayron.
“Brad Silberling is very poetic with the camera — the way he sets up blocking and the way he tells a story is very poetic, where it’s a reflection of the script and it’s telling a story inside of the story. Melanie Mayron sets up really stunning shots — whether it’s a really big wide where you have somebody running through the scene or it’s inserts of a hand moving a chair, or it’s a cut between a look and a look,” she said.
“Charmed,” which comes from “Jane” showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman, marks the first project Rodriguez will direct that she is not also starring in.
The new version of “Charmed” is based on a story by Urman, with “Jane” writers Jessica O’Toole and Amy Rardin writing and executive producing. Silberling, Ben Silverman and Carter Covington also executive produce. CBS Television Studios produce in association with Propagate Content.
The show stars Melonie Diaz, Madeleine Mantock and Sarah Jeffrey as the sisters who discover they are witches in the pilot episode.
Rodriguez will also be back in the director’s seat on “Jane” for the fifth and final season premiere episode. She is also developing a few projects with the network.
Gina Rodriguez is finally ready to let the world in on her big secret: She’s engaged!
The Jane the Virgin star confirms to PEOPLE that she has been engaged to her boyfriend Joe LoCicero for a month. Rumors of the couple’s engagement began circulating around her 34th birthday last week when she posted several photos of the two cozied up with a huge ring on that special finger.
“I am [engaged]!” Rodriguez tells PEOPLE. “He’s the best. He’s the f—ing best. We’ve been engaged for like a month — I’ve kept it a secret for a while.”
Rodriguez and LoCicero met in 2016 when he played a stripper on Jane the Virgin, and they started dating soon after. They first revealed their blossoming romance with pictures from their Thailand vacation over Christmas 2016 and have gushed over each other on social media since.
But Rodriguez is still careful not to reveal too much about their relationship and admits to being hesitant to talk about their engagement.
“I don’t even really want to say it’s happening,” she says. “I just want to live! I think there’s a huge blessing in the fact that people care. That’s a beautiful thing, so that feels really good. But another part of me wants to keep a little something that’s just mine, ’cause there’s not too many things I have like that anymore.”
The actress sat down with PEOPLE on Tuesday to talk about her partnership with Always in helping end period poverty across America. The brand will be donating a month’s worth of supplies to school-age girls in need for every pack purchased in stores — all in the hopes that no other girl misses school just because of her period.
Gina is set to guest-star on Elena Of Avalor Song of the Sirenas primetime TV movie premiering Friday, September 21 at 7pm on Disney Junior.
I am so excited and happy for them!!
Wedding bells will soon be ringing! Gina Rodriguez is engaged to boyfriend Joe LoCicero, a source exclusively reveals to Us Weekly.
The Golden Globe winner, 34, sparked engagement speculation on Monday, July 30, after posting an Instagram photo of herself sporting a diamond ring. “‘They thought I was a Surrealist, but I wasn’t,’” she captioned the picture, quoting artist Frida Kahlo. “‘I never painted dreams. I painted my own reality.’”
Rodriguez and LoCicero, 31, met in 2016 when he appeared on an episode of her hit CW show.
“He thought I was being nice to him because I am nice to everyone that comes on the show,” she said on Live With Kelly and Ryan in November 2017. “So he thought I was just being super sweet to him and I thought he was just being sweet on me because I’m the lead.”
Rodriguez gushed over the actor in December 2016 on their “first Christmas together,” writing that his love “has been the greatest gift.” She also praised him on his 31st birthday in August 2017, writing on Instagram, “To my king. I love you.”
LoCicero has publicly supported the Annihilation actress and was by her side during the Emmy Awards in September 2017 and the Screen Actors Guild Awards in January. The pair also locked lips while walking the 2018 Oscars red carpet in March.
During the SDCC Panel for Brooklyn Nine Nine the cast were asked on whether or not Gina would be back for the new season. This is what was said on the matter..
‘What you guys don’t know is that when Gina [Rodriguez] was on our episode, our episodes take five days to shoot and she was there for one day. That was the only day she was able to do it, her schedule is so packed, and she’s a friend of mine and so she wants to come back so badly but it just is a matter of scheduling. So, I dunno, maybe there are some other hot babes in Rosa’s future.’ – Stephanie Beatriz on Rosa’s new crush and whether that storyline with Gina Rodriguez, who skipped out on her vacation early to shoot Brooklyn Nine-Nine, will be going anywhere in season 6.
